Financial Access Capital Partners
Financial Access Capital Partners is the financial services advisory unit of the FA group. We have been dedicated since establishment within ING more than 25 years ago to financial sector business worldwide, including:
- transactional support to investors and financiers in pre- or post-investment stages
- interim management, design and support to new finance businesses, and turnaround or change management
- specialised technical assistance across a broad range of operational financial services disciplines.
The Partners and Principals of the firm are deeply experienced in the issues associated with banking, asset management and insurance restructuring projects as well as Greenfield investments. We understand from first-hand experience the perspective of investors in the financial sector. In the aftermath of recurrent financial crises of the last decades, we have executed large-scale assignments in Europe, Asia and Africa, for public and private sector clients.
We are financial services practitioners, not pure consultants, accountants or actuaries. The firm has its origins in the banking & insurance sectors as a subsidiary of the ING Group (a pathfinder in banking and insurance businesses), and the Partners, managers and specialist advisers employed by FA Capital Partners have in general long experience in major international financial institutions. With management backgrounds in financial services ourselves, we are exceptionally sensitive to the concerns that advice provided must be practical, implementation-orientated, and based on appropriate best practice.
SEAF and Private Equity practice
Alongside the founding partners, FA Capital Partners has one institutional founding shareholder: SEAF – the Small Enterprise Assistance Funds – based in Washington, DC (see www.seaf.com). SEAF celebrates its 30th year of operation in 2019 as what is today called an “Impact” investment firm, having pioneered the development private equity funds targeting the SME sector of frontier markets globally. Today, SEAF and FA work more closely together than ever, providing investor know-how and analytical capacity from the PE investor perspective to FA’s advisory work, as well as access to worldwide resources from the international network of SEAF investment professionals. SEAF have invested separately in FA’s SME finance company affiliate in East Africa, FACTS (see www.factsafrica.com).
In addition to operational support and know-how, SEAF-FA sponsor investment transactions and provides investment advice to institutional investors concerning funds or secondary transactions. Assistance in this area lies in PE fund management/advisory, deal origination, due diligence, post-investment interventions, and fundraising.
