Financial Access is a financial advisory firm based in Amsterdam.  Our clients are exclusively financial institutions, mainly in emerging and transition economies, as well as investors in the financial sector, including investment funds, family offices, development finance institutions and donor agencies.  We provide a range of advisory services, including the mobilisaiton of (interim- or long-term) management, the procurement of specific know-how, and assistance in accessing capital resources.

We are bankers and financial services professionals by vocation.  Our advice is practically-orientated and grounded in our concrete experience of building and operating financial institutions in emerging markets.

Advisory Services: Management, Know-How and Access to Capital

The greatest stumbling block faced by financial institutions in developing markets is not about strategy.  It is management capacity and shortages of skills and experience.  Since our origins in the early 1990s, the firm has provided operational know-how to financial institutions worldwide, whether short-term or on a longer-term (interim-) management basis.  We do diagnostic or due diligence work, assist in the development of recovery, restructuring or performance enhancement plans, and support the execution of these plans as implementors.  In fact, as bankers and financial services managers, the primary value we add lies in the implementation area, across all major operational and commercial disciplines.

Origins

Financial Access was formally launched in January 2007.  The firm originated in a management buy-out of ING’s financial sector advisory practice, with a track record going back to the early 1990s.  We leverage our own experience and that of our shareholders with an international expertise network of partners built over many years.
